Cox TV Connect for iPad gets remote DVR scheduling, access to the guide at home or away

The Cox TV Connect for iPad app that brings live TV streaming to the tablet while customers are at home has received another update that gives it some capabilities outside the house. While that doesn't include the aforementioned TV viewing, version 1.1.2 integrates remote DVR scheduling (previously left to the company's Mobile Connect phone apps) and allows access to the app and recently updated grid guide when the user is away from home. You'll still need to have the proper TV and internet packages from Cox to make it all go, but there's no addit ional charge for the app that's available at the source link below.

Sometimes I don’t understand providers. Like Cox for example; they only let their highest tier customers’ use the iPad app for streaming in the house and have a second app for programming the DVR remotely which everyone can use. Then they integrate the DVR app into the iPad for those same customers, but why would they have been going to the iPad before since the DVR app is the only one that works out of the house. I will admit remote DVR apps are very important, I have been using the Dish remote Access app to program my DVR for a couple years, at least twice a week when I forget to set a timer for some odd show I want to watch, I am able to settle conflicts remove old timers and old recordings. One thing I have noticed since I upgrade to the Hopper DVR after talking to a coworker at DISH about it functionality is that I don’t set as many timers as I used to. With the Primetime Anytime feature, I am able to record all of my favorite primetime shows from the big four without conflict, which leaves me two other tuners to record cable shows on. My timers dropped about 50% and my conflicts are almost non existent.
